Bailey Park Project

Parks are a tangible reflection of the quality of life in a community—they are often cited as one of the most important factors in how livable communities are.

The Bailey Park Project (BPP) was founded in 2013 by Katrina Watkins, a former social worker, educator, and long-time resident of the neighborhood. Dedicated to empowering her community in an impactful manner, Katrina created the Bailey Park Project to help strengthen the McDougall-Hunt neighborhood.

The building of Bailey Park represents phase one of BPP's wider vision to help stabilize and increase value within the neighborhood while reducing vacancy and abandonment. Bailey Park is a powerful, positive symbol of McDougall-Hunt’s ongoing evolution as a historical neighborhood that values families, community, and connectivity.

Bailey Park is the first major project in the McDougall-Hunt Neighborhood Sustainable Redeveloped plan. The park and its new KaBoom playscape serve as an anchor for the McDougal-Hunt community.
